Asset Investigations
for Solvency,
Debt Collection
and Legal Actions
Istituto Mercurio's asset investigations represent the most effective and strategic tool for determining the true financial standing of a debtor, whether a natural person or a legal entity.
In an increasingly complex legal environment, acting "blindly" or relying on old information carries significant financial risks and wasted legal costs: our job is to provide documented certainty before initiating enforcement action.
Through rigorous investigative analysis, carried out under a regular License, we do not limit ourselves to consulting public databases.
We perform cross-checks to identify movable and immovable assets, third-party debts, and, above all, hidden or concealed sources of income. This allows the creditor or lawyer to preemptively assess the financial viability of legal action or to surgically target a foreclosure with certainty.
Our output isn't just a list of raw data: we develop structured, annotated, and ready-to-use asset surveys and financial reports.
These files are essential evidentiary tools not only for debt collection but also for determining the appropriate income in separation proceedings for maintenance review.
Reliability and Experience:
The Value of the Mercury Institute
In the commercial information sector, the difference between a recovered debt and a lost cost lies in the legality and timeliness of the data.
The Mercurio Institute is not a simple automated database aggregator, but a structured investigative agency, licensed to operate throughout Italy.
Why our reports
are considered a reference standard
for Law Firms and Businesses?
- Thirty Years of Experience and Investigative Methodology: We've been working "in the field" for three decades. We understand the real dynamics of debt collection, not just the theoretical ones. We know how to interpret the signs of insolvency and distinguish a debtor with no assets from one who has cleverly hidden their assets.
- "Seizable" and Verified Data: We don't provide generic lists or outdated data. All information (from active bank accounts to actual workplaces) is verified in real time to be useful in foreclosure proceedings. We eliminate unnecessary information so you can focus on truly seizable assets.
- Total Transparency (No Subscriptions): We believe in client freedom. Unlike our competitors, we offer comprehensive Asset Investigations with a "Pay per Dossier" model at an affordable cost. There's no obligation to purchase prepaid packages, no annual fees, and no binding subscriptions. You only pay for the investigation you need, when you need it.

Tracing Current Accounts and Liquidity
A bank investigation is the crucial tool for assessing a debtor's true solvency and ensuring successful debt collection.
Our report identifies all active accounts with credit institutions and Poste Italiane nationwide, including online current accounts, prepaid cards with IBAN (e.g., PostePay Evolution), and savings books.
The added value of this service is the availability of funds: this critical information allows you to strategically decide whether to proceed with the seizure of the deposited funds or to abandon them due to insufficient funds, thus optimizing time and legal costs.
Work and Pension Activity
To successfully execute a salary garnishment, it is essential to accurately identify the eligible source of income.
Our investigation tracks down your current employer, providing complete tax information, your registered office for reporting, and a reliable estimate of your monthly salary.
We enrich the report with strategic details such as the contract type for calculating the accumulated severance pay.
For pensioners, we identify the paying pension institution (INPS or Professional Funds) and the pension category, verifying the monthly payment capacity.
Real Estate and Movable Property
We conduct a nationwide property search at the Land and Building Registry to map all real estate properties, including co-ownership shares and real rights.
A crucial aspect of our analysis is the historical review of the last 24 months: we examine recent sales deeds and donations. This information is essential for a lawyer considering a revocation action (pursuant to Art. 2901 of the Italian Civil Code) against attempted fraudulent dispossession of assets.
We complete the investigation by searching the Public Automobile Registry (PRA) to identify vehicles, motorcycles, or commercial vehicles registered to the individual and eligible for seizure.
Corporate Offices and Shareholdings
We analyze the debtor (natural or legal person) from a business perspective, identifying active corporate positions, qualifications, and shareholdings in joint-stock companies.
Often overlooked, company shares represent a high-value asset that can be seized through foreclosure or precautionary seizure.
The report highlights the power structure and financial connections, allowing us to understand whether the individual is hiding liquidity within corporate "Chinese boxes." This is an essential investigation when the debtor formally appears to be penniless but maintains a high standard of living thanks to company benefits.
Protests and Prejudices
Cross-checking official negatives (protests, prejudicial land registry documents, bankruptcy proceedings) determines the degree of commercial reliability, highlighting mortgages or foreclosures that would render recovery action futile.
Furthermore, we integrate screening into Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Lists. We verify whether the individual is a Politically Exposed Person or is listed on international watchlists (Sanctions, Interdictions). This check is essential for professionals (lawyers, real estate agents) to also fulfill customer due diligence obligations (Legislative Decree 231/2007), providing a valid report as supporting documentation for regulatory compliance.
